Auditory Processing
What is auditory processing?
"Auditory processing is a term used to describe what happens when your brain recognizes and interprets the sounds around you. Humans hear when energy that we recognize as sound travels through the ear and is changed into electrical information that can be interpreted by the brain." (NIDCD Website) Some children have difficulty with processing information correctly and can become frustrated with academics and social situations. This can sometimes be referred to as Auditory Processing Disorder which can either exist by itself or with other forms of Autism Spectrum Disorder. For more information on auditory processing and Auditory Processing Disorder, please visit the NIDCD Website.
We have selected toys to help appropriately stimulate a child's ability to process sound and language. It is our belief that these toys can be beneficial to a child's development.
